1- Since January 1st 1804, Haiti became the first black independent country in the world. The second in America and the first in the Caribbean. First of all ”The Pearl of the Caribbean” is located in the center of the West Indies hotspot destination Haiti is next to Jamaica, Cuba and the Dominican Republic. This is why there is a lot to see and do. Haiti is not a country just for chill on the beach under the sun and stay on a 4 or 5 stars hotel – Haiti is the soul of the Caribbean.

2- During the past years, Haiti became an hotspot for the foreign investors and tourists from all around the world. Now if you go to Haiti, you can find a lot of new international hotel chains like

The first all inclusive Resort in the country to open doors since 25 years ! This is how the Haitian government decide to modernize the international airport of the capital and build another one in the second largest city of the country Cap-Haïtien and the government also renovated the cultural and historical sites in the cities and in the countryside. For answer to the increasing demand for Haiti, now there is a lot of new flights between Haiti and other countries like United States , Canada and France. The government also have a master plan for tourism in the South of the country and the surroundings islands of Haiti. In Tortuga Island the Carnival Cruiseline

3- The country have many types of tourism. If you are an urban tourist you can enjoy your stay in Port-au-Prince the capital of Haiti. In fact Port-au-Prince is the biggest city in Haiti and the Caribbean. There you find some famous places like Petionville ( an upper class and influent suburb outside the capital on the mountains ) there is a lot of good international and local restaurants, supermarkets, Art Galleries , million dollars houses and luxury shopping malls to feel like home. If you are a cultural tourist you can also visit the artisans of the Villages de Noailles or you can go down town Port-au-Prince and visit the Champs-de-Mars square ( the biggest square in the town ) near movie theaters and the haitian national museum and learn more about the glory history of Haiti. If you are in Haiti for adventure you can go to the Côte des Arcadins ( Arcadins Coast ) and enjoy some of the most beautiful Beach Resort in the surroundings. In that 45min. spot outside Port-au-Prince you can make excursions on a boat or you can rent a jet ski or little 4X4 motos. The most famous Resorts here is Wahoo Bay, Kaliko , Moulin-sur-Mer, Royal Decameron Indigo, Ocean View, Ouanga bay and Xaragua… These Resorts have restaurants and Spa, pools and aquatic sports or tennis court and basket ball field.

4- Haiti is a colourful country ! If you are in Haiti it’s 100% sure you’ll learn a new dance. It can be Konpa , Racine , Raboday, Voodoo , Twoubadou or ” Danse Traditionnel ” your nightlife will never be the same. If you think your mother can make the best ”griot with diri collé” you’ll change your mind if you taste the griot of Haiti with some plantains ( bannan pezé ) and pikliz on the beach.

The locals and diaspora favorite beer is Prestige. That beer used to be the best beer in the world. If you drink it with ice or the Rhum Barbancourt 5* ( 5 Etwal ) Get a fresh grilled fish from the sea … definitely, Haiti will bring you to Heaven.

5- The country is back on it’s feet. Canadian Haitian , American Haitian , French Haitian or what ever you should explore that amazing country and learn more about your ancestors and your parents country. Haiti is not just Port-au-Prince … Haiti is more then that ! So guys for these reasons I hope you’ll choose Haiti Chérie as your next destination in 2016. As a member of the diaspora you should support the haitian tourism and the haitian economy. It will be the best experience of your life.
